John Foy QC in two Costs Successes - Crane v Canons Leisure Centre & Wolley v Haden Building Services
Complaints under the Criminal Justice Act 2003: Acting for the Crown in the Court of Appeal, Simon Carr and Shahram Sharghy were successful in having appeals against convictions for numerous and various sexual offences dismissed.
Corr v IBC: 9 Gough Square in Key House of Lords win: The 9 Gough Square team of Counsel for the Claimant in this House of Lords win funded by Unite Union (TGWU section) were John Foy QC, Andrew Ritchie and Robert McAllister.
Liability of Local Authorities to Compensate for Failure to Protect; In the light of the House of Lords decision in A v Hoare allowing courts to exercise a discretion to extend time for abuse claims, Shahram Sharghy highlights the liability of local authorities in tort for breach of duty in relation to safeguarding children from ‘significant’ harm arising out of the care being provided by their parents.

Legal 500 Clients’ Guide 2007 - In Legal 500, published in October 2007, 9 Gough Square’s ranking increased to 17 barrister listings in Personal Injury, Police Law, Health and Safety with a new ranking for its Fraud practice. "9 Gough Square is growing in profile, and many who refer work to the set are keen to recommend it. The set's focus on quality and "attentive service" merits recognition: "They're motivated, committed and responsive." said the Guide.
Six new tenants at 9 Gough Square - Claire Harden, Gareth Munday and James Thacker have joined 9 Gough Square's successful Crime, Fraud and Regulatory groups; Emma-Jane Mahood specialises in Family Law and two of Chambers’ pupils, Jennifer Scott and Ed Lamb, became tenants on 1st October 2007 following their successful pupillage in Chambers.
